You don't have to have professional goals to sing. Singing is for everyone! I constantly witness my students leaving sessions happy, energized, relaxed, open and feeling positive. This work can compliment many other aspects of your life especially your level of confidence and ability to express yourself.
The basis of the centuries-old Italian/old world/bel canto technique I teach is simple:
• Sing like you speak, but with awareness
• Breathe as you breathe normally, but with awareness
• Stand as you should stand, but with awareness (based in yoga, ballet, Feldenkrais and Alexander techniques)
• The voice is connected, not divided into three or four separate registers (eg: chest, head, whistle) so every note of your range is available to you at every moment in time.
We will work together to release the tone your voice was meant to form, with infinite breath, interpretation and musical control; the result being a more confident singer with a reliable voice with quality of tone.
I have my master's in music performance and have taught for 20 years. My students range from professionals to weekend warriors to rock bands to curious music lovers. I provide a non judgmental, laid-back, stress-free environment in which you work to develop your art. Once you learn the principles, the change in the tone and quality of your voice is astounding – YOU WILL NOTICE THE DIFFERENCE AFTER THE FIRST LESSON!
