Tyson has 18 years of private music lesson teaching experience. He has a Masters degree in Jazz Performance and Pedagogy and has been a professional jazz musician in the Denver area for the past eleven years. He is currently an instructor of music at three Denver area accredited colleges. Tyson has performed in various symphonies and teaches Classical fundamentals, techniques and string pedagogy on the double bass. He is also an active performer and teacher on the bass guitar, instructing in styles such as Latin, rock and jazz and techniques like slap-pop, picking and standard finger plucking. Tyson has been a featured performer on television and radio as well as performing alongside Grammy award winning pianist, Frank Mantooth.
