POSITION SUMMARY:
Assumes responsibility and accountability for facilitating, communicating, and collaborating with both the healthcare team, and the patient/family to identify and meet the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of the patient. Promotes the optimal health, well being and safety of the patient through use of the nursing process and in accordance with patient care standards, guidelines and the State Nurse Practice Act. Demonstrates personal accountability for relationship:based care, organizational mission, and core values.
:Assesses patient's physical, psychosocial, cultural and spiritual needs through observation, interview, review of records and clinical data. Evaluates patient's response and intervenes in a timely manner to ensure optimal patient outcome.
:Effectively performs a variety of therapeutic/diagnostic interventions specific to the cardiac cath lab, which may include sedation, circulating and scrubbing for the procedures being performed.
:Ensures safety of each patient in least restrictive manner.
:Implements patient plan of care and observes outcomes in accordance with nursing standards and physician directions.
:Educates patient on procedures being performed and any post procedure care needs
:Thorough and confidential maintenance of patient charts and records
:Documents ongoing status, interventions, patient response and outcomes in accurate, timely manner
:Anticipates needs of provider, staff, patient and family
:Effectively uses time, personnel, equipment and supplies to provide high quality, cost effective delivery of patient care
:Adapts to rapidly changing technologies, policies, regulations, census and staffing through priority setting and flexibility
:Professional role model for all staff demonstrating ethical/legal/professional nursing process
:Maintains high skill level through ongoing education/meeting attendance
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
:Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
:BSN Preferred
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
:One year experience preferred
:Nursing skills and knowledge base specific to specialty
LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:
:Current Colorado RN license/ Current RN license from a participating state in National Licensure Compact
:Current BLS certification from American Heart Association required
:Additional certifications may be required (refer to facility addendum(s)
