As the Supplier Excellence Engineer you will be a member of the Medtronic Supplier Excellence team. The candidate will provide Six Sigma and Lean support through evaluation and improvement of the Medtronic supply base. The support will involve various project teams as required; Sustaining Engineering (cost savings), New Product Development (critical component qualification), Plant Engineering (root cause analysis and resolution), as well as responsibility for managing scoped projects as necessary. In addition, this candidate will focus on improving supplier quality, on-time delivery, supplier selection, new supplier identification, support supply chain strategies in emerging markets etc. What is the work you will be doing? This position will sit in Boulder, CO. - Collaboration with critical suppliers ensuring quality requirements are met in both product and process - Partner with key suppliers to pursue continuous improvement and waste elimination - Drive issue resolution (root cause analysis) at supplier, including ability to lead problem solving teams - Ensure quality standards at supply base are attained and maintained - Participate in supplier improvement initiatives - Develop and execute action plans to address opportunities at supply base - Assure suppliers are complying with Medtronic's Supplier Requirements Qualifications In Order To Be Considered For This Position, the Following Basic Qualifications Must Be Evident On Your Resume Required Education: - Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related field strongly preferred; equivalent work experience may be considered Required Years Of Experience: - Minimum 2 years related experience with manufacturing processes, operational excellence, quality systems, and continuous improvement activities Do you have these experiences or skills? - Strong knowledge of quality systems, policies, procedures, and ability to apply to supplier requirements - Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) process - ISO xxxx5, ISO xxxx, QS xxxx, and 21CFR820 requirements - Quality system audits - Practical and applied knowledge of statistical techniques Strong experience with Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and ability to assist and assure implementation of deliverables throughout the supply base - Ability to analyze suppliers, identify gaps, and develop improvement strategies - Demonstrated ability to manage and complete multiple projects and objectives - Strong problem solving and analytical skills and ability to influence individuals and groups - Ability to foster change and promote/implement improvement - Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation and facilitation skills - Expertise with various software packages; Minitab, Microsoft (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and Visio - Willingness to travel, up to 50%; amount varies (domestic and international to lesser degree) - Strong background in supplier quality and management - Project management Do you have these professional or academic certifications? - Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) or Six Sigma (SS) Green Belt or Lean certifications preferred - Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) through the American Society for Quality (ASQ) preferred About Medtronic: Together, we can change healthcare worldwide.
