Western States Reclamation, Inc. (WSRI) was founded in xxxx as an Environmental Contracting Corporation. WSRI works as both a General Contractor and Subcontractor. We contract with government agencies (city, county, state and federal), large mining/utility companies, oil and gas companies, oil and natural gas pipeline companies, and private developments, etc. Our services include revegetation, erosion control, wetlands construction, stream channel restoration,
landscape/irrigation construction, earthwork, and some civil work.
Position Objective
WSRI is expanding into earthwork services as part of our desire to offer turnkey land reclamation and revegetation services for oil and gas pad and road reclaims, wetlands construction, and stream channel restoration. Our continued expansion into this area requires the addition of a Project Manager/Estimator with significant experience in earthwork for land reclamation projects. The successful candidate will have experience with the following types of work:
:Stream Channel restoration, wetlands construction, and detention pond construction projects containing very detailed plans and specifications complete with cross sections and cut/fill information.
:Interim and final reclamation of oil and gas developments, requiring the ability to perform infield calculations of earthwork cut/fill volumes to bring access roads pads, and mud pits back to Approximate Original Contour (AOC), including re:establishing drainage channels. Oil and gas reclamation projects typically range in size from 5,000 to 100,000 cubic yards of cut/fill. Equipment typically utilized consists of dozers, loaders, trackhoes, haul trucks, and blades.
The PM/Estimator must be willing and able to assist in hiring and training additional staff as required for expanding earthwork reclamation services. The PM/Estimator will be trained to bid and manage the companys current core revegetation services.
Essential Job Functions
The number of projects and size of projects vary. The anticipated bid range of projects is from 20,000 to 4M. The project manager is responsible for:
:Completing accurate bids and develops budgets for field personnel.
:Strive for profitable projects by managing material budgets, crew activity, client communications, etc.
:Long range planning and market analyses for company advancement.
:Effective supervision and management of subordinate staff.
:Prepare RFIs and change orders as required.
:Hire, train, and motivate field employees.
:Assist with business development and marketing the companys services.
:Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients.
:Maintain adequate and accurate job records which serve other departments and expedite the flow of paperwork within the company.
:Maintain high quality standards of workmanship expected within the industry and the high quality that Western States commits to and delivers to their clients.
:Complete progressive updates of company safety standards and operational procedures.
:Maintain company safety standards and compliance with OSHA, MSHA, and DOT regulations.
:Complete monthly project invoicing.
Qualification Requirements
5+ Years of Project Management and estimating experience in the area of earthwork (preferably reclamation type projects).
Computer Proficiency: Windows, Microsoft Word and Excel, and Power Point. Preference given to individual with Bid2Win Estimating Software or comparable estimating software experience.
B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Natural Resource Management or related field.
